The minutes of the last meeting, November 16, 2009, were approved.
TREASURER'S
REPORT:

The
Treasurer's report was approved as submitted.
COMMITTEES:
Roads
and Drainage - Nothing
new was reported.
Community
Watch - With the
exception of the January 4, 2010 meeting, Chris Savage volunteered to attend
the Community Watch meetings in the upcoming year on behalf of the CBCA.
Boat
Ramp Keys - Nothing
new was reported.
Beach
Erosion - Terrye
Zaremba discussed her attempts to obtain help from various government and
community resources to address the potentially hazardous condition of the
Avenue D stairs to the beach.
She was
frustrated at every turn. The board
agreed that Mrs. Zaremba will compose a letter to the Calvert County
Commissioners describing the situation and seeking clarification of areas of
responsibility.
She will
e-Mail a draft of this letter to board members for input.
The board
appointed Charlie Anderson and Doug Crow as a sub-committee tasked with
gathering data on potential options and cost estimates available to address the
stairs problem. For the present,
Mr.
Anderson will put up a sign warning people to enter the stairs at their
"own risk".
OLD
BUSINESS:
Picnic
Tables - Charlie Anderson reported that the
picnic tables at the boat ramp have been secured to underground
foundations. Tina and Steve Murphy
worked with Mr. Anderson on completing this task.
Chris
Rogers will prepare a note of thanks to the Murphy's for their assistance.
Any
Response From A-1 -
Mr. Anderson did not receive a response to the letter he sent to the towing
company last month.
Eyesore
Enforcement - Although
Mr. Crow e-Mailed a draft letter to board members, he reported receiving few
comments. He will resend it and again
will request final comments. Mr. Crow
also will follow up
on the
water tank (eyesore) off Calvert Beach Rd. after the holiday season.
NEW
BUSINESS:
CERT
Training - Mrs.
Zaremba provided information regarding Community Emergency Response Training
(CERT) which is free to interested citizens.
The training takes about 20 hours to complete and provides critical
skills in emergency preparedness and response.

Newsletter/Dues
Paid - Mrs. Zaremba noted that the Fall
Newsletter has been distributed. She
thanked everyone who provided input for the letter. Mr. Anderson said that two late dues payments
have
been
received so far.
Osprey
Platform - Mr Crow
expressed an interest in following up on this item after the first of the year.
Protocol
for e-Mails - It was agreed that e-Mail on subject matter
which involves topics for CBCA board member discussion and comment will be
restricted for distribution to board members only.
Other
Issues:
The board
agreed to discontinue posting notice of the monthly board meetings on the
Community Bulletin Board on Calvert Beach Road.
However, notice of the Annual Community Meeting will be posted as usual.
