COMMITTEES:

Boat Ramp Keys - Nothing new was reported.

Beach Erosion - Terrye Zaremba discussed her attempts to obtain help from various government and community resources to address the potentially hazardous condition of the Avenue D stairs to the beach.

She was frustrated at every turn.  The board agreed that Mrs. Zaremba will compose a letter to the Calvert County Commissioners describing the situation and seeking clarification of areas of responsibility.

She will e-Mail a draft of this letter to board members for input.

The board appointed Charlie Anderson and Doug Crow as a sub-committee tasked with gathering data on potential options and cost estimates available to address the stairs problem.  For the present,

Mr. Anderson will put up a sign warning people to enter the stairs at their "own risk".

OLD BUSINESS:

Picnic Tables -  Charlie Anderson reported that the picnic tables at the boat ramp have been secured to underground foundations.  Tina and Steve Murphy worked with Mr. Anderson on completing this task.

Chris Rogers will prepare a note of thanks to the Murphy's for their assistance.

Any Response From A-1 - Mr. Anderson did not receive a response to the letter he sent to the towing company last month.

Eyesore Enforcement - Although Mr. Crow e-Mailed a draft letter to board members, he reported receiving few comments.  He will resend it and again will request final comments.  Mr. Crow also will follow up

on the water tank (eyesore) off Calvert Beach Rd. after the holiday season.

NEW BUSINESS:

CERT Training - Mrs. Zaremba provided information regarding Community Emergency Response Training (CERT) which is free to interested citizens.  The training takes about 20 hours to complete and provides critical skills in emergency preparedness and response.  For more information, call 410-535-1600, ext 2302.

Newsletter/Dues Paid -  Mrs. Zaremba noted that the Fall Newsletter has been distributed.  She thanked everyone who provided input for the letter.  Mr. Anderson said that two late dues payments have

been received so far.

Osprey Platform - Mr Crow expressed an interest in following up on this item after the first of the year.

Protocol for e-Mails -  It was agreed that e-Mail on subject matter which involves topics for CBCA board member discussion and comment will be restricted for distribution to board members only.

Other Issues:

The board agreed to discontinue posting notice of the monthly board meetings on the Community Bulletin Board on Calvert Beach Road.  However, notice of the Annual Community Meeting will be posted as usual.
